Alma/Primo Training Programs

MIT Libraries, 2020 – 2021

Training coordinator for MIT Libraries’ Alma/Primo library services platform/discovery services implementation. In collaboration with the Training & Documentation Working Group, developed cohort model training program organized by functional area and assembled curricula of existing materials for each cohort. Facilitated cohort meetings and supported group members during the 3-month training period. Worked with T&D group to develop local practice/reference wiki and support materials for post-migration staff training. 12-month project.

CUNY Library Consortium, 2020

Training consultant for abbreviated train-the-trainer program for Alma migration. Due to the global pandemic, converted a 3-day in-person Alma workshop into five 3-hour webinars, with training scripts and other materials provided as supports after each webinar. 2-month project.

SUNY Library Consortium, 2019-2020

Consultant/training specialist working to build and extend a multi-modal sustainable long-term training solution for the Alma/Primo VE library management and discovery systems. Collaborated with SUNY Shared Library Services staff and local campus staff to develop templates and support materials for local trainers and self-directed staff learning. 12-month project. Harvard Libraries, 2017 – 2019

Training project manager & lead trainer for Harvard Library’s Alma (Ex Libris) unified resource management system implementation. In collaboration with staff on the Alma Training Working Group, developed multi-modal curriculum for day 1 readiness and a sustainable long-term training solution for a dynamic SaaS service platform. 18-month project. Other Training Programs

Somerville (MA) Public Library Staff Technology Self-Development Platform, 2017

Developed customized technology staff competencies list and two technology-focused staff training opportunities as part of a state “technology-focused customer service” grant. The in-person training is mentioned on my Workshops & Trainings page. Created a list of staff technology competencies for annual review and personal development use. Developed a website-based self-development platform around the competencies, including a self-check quiz and skill-building resources.
